I enclose in original Foreign Office note H3 11011/7 of 4th April enclosing copies of correspondence with Mr. E. P. Dillon of Hong Kong, concerning his claim for compensation for war damage losses in China.

2. No previous record of Mr. Dillon is available in the Colonial office and notwithstanding his reference to Hong Kong it is understood from the Foreign office that he has not in fact sustained any losses in the Colony.

3. In view, however, of the last para raph of Foreign Office letter of the 30th March, I should be grateful if you would inform er. Dillon of the position regarding claims f'or war dawage compensation in Hong Kong.
